Dizengoff Square is a perfectly circular plaza that anchors the White City of Tel Aviv. You can identify it by the continuous ring of modernist buildings that wrap around the intersection, all marked by their characteristic horizontal slit balconies. Named after Zina Dizengoff, the wife of the city's first mayor, the square was inaugurated in nineteen thirty-eight following a design competition won by the architect Genia Averbuch.
