Fushimi Kandakara Shrine sits on a wooded slope of Mount Inari, distinguished from the surrounding trails by a pair of stone dragon statues guarding its entrance. Unlike the bustling paths of the nearby Fushimi Inari Taisha, this site offers a quiet, secluded space where the forest meets the architecture of the shrine. It enshrines Amaterasu Omikami alongside Inari deities, and the main hall displays a tablet inscribed with the characters for Shin-ho-gu, or Divine Treasure Palace.
