Okusha Worship Center of Fushimi Inari Shrine

The Okusha Hohaisho, known as the Inner Shrine, sits at the end of the dense tunnel of vermilion torii gates called the Senbon Torii. The main shrine complex occupies the base of the mountain, but this worship hall exists so pilgrims can offer prayers to the sacred peak of Mount Inari from a closer distance. It operates as a gateway to the mountain trail that ascends toward the summit.
