Fushimi Inari Taisha Honden (Sanctuary)

The Honden, or main hall, of Fushimi Inari Taisha is recognized by its vibrant vermillion-red wood and a sprawling roof built in the nagare-zukuri style, where one side of the eaves extends further than the other. Designated as an Important Cultural Property, this building sits as the sacred center of a complex established in seven hundred eleven by the Hata clan. While the shrine has served as a place of worship for over thirteen centuries, this specific structure was reconstructed in fourteen ninety-nine after the original buildings were consumed by fire during the Onin War.
