The Nintendo Kyoto Research Center was once part of an office complex at sixty Kamitakamatsu-cho in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto. For years, this site served as a core creative hub for the company, housing designers and engineers who built much of Nintendo's early gaming catalog. Before the year two thousand, the complex was the birthplace of titles such as Super Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid, as well as the original Nintendo Entertainment System hardware.
