Azabu Hikawa Shrine

religious

Azabu Hikawa Shrine is set apart by its vivid vermilion main hall, a bright splash of color tucked away within a lush, green oasis of trees. Founded in the mid-tenth century, likely in nine hundred forty-two, it has occupied its present site since sixteen fifty-nine. The shrine is dedicated to the deities Susanoo-no-Mikoto and Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto, and for centuries, it has served as a guardian presence for the local Azabu area.
