The National Art Center, Tokyo, reveals itself through a massive, undulating glass curtain wall that ripples across the landscape like a wave. Opened in two thousand seven, the building is defined by this translucent facade, which stands about twenty-two meters high and stretches for one hundred sixty meters. It was designed by the architect Kisho Kurokawa, a central figure in the Metabolism movement, and it became his final completed project before he died that same year.
