Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium, which opened on October twenty-third, nineteen twenty-six, is defined by its low-profile concrete stands and its placement within the tree-lined landscape of the Meiji Jingu Gaien parkland. Owned by the Meiji Shrine, the stadium predates professional baseball in Japan and was originally constructed to host university competitions, including the Tokyo Big Six Baseball League.
