Hyogo Yokocho Alley

Hyogo Yokocho Alley is defined by its narrow, winding path of cobblestones that crosses the slope of the Kagurazaka neighborhood. Flanked by traditional black wooden walls and greenery, this alley creates an atmosphere distinct from the surrounding city streets. The name Hyogo—meaning armory—traces back to the Sengoku period, when the site housed the armory for Ushigome Castle.
