Kitazawa Bookstore occupies the second floor of a European-style building on Yasukuni Street, accessible by a spiral staircase. Founded in nineteen oh two, the shop began by specializing in Japanese literature before shifting its focus to Western books in nineteen fifty-five. Today, the store holds approximately twelve thousand used volumes, primarily centering on humanities subjects like English and American literature, philosophy, and history.
