Kakurenbo Yokocho (Hide-and-Seek Alley)

Kakurenbo Yokocho, or Hide-and-Seek Alley, is defined by its maze of narrow passages and its distinctive cobblestone pavement. This alley, located between Kagurazaka Naka-dori and Honda Yokocho, features a path paved with approximately twenty-eight thousand granite pieces known as pincoro stone. Lacquered black wooden walls and traditional noren curtains line the route, evoking the atmosphere of the district's past as a center for geisha houses and high-class restaurants during the Edo period.
