Kanda Myoujin Shrine is distinguished by its vivid vermilion-painted Zuishin-mon gate, which stands as a bright, colorful entrance to the grounds. Founded in seven thirty, this site has served as a guardian for Tokyo for thirteen hundred years. It was originally built in a fishing village near the modern Otemachi district, but in sixteen sixteen, it was relocated to its current hilltop position to make way for the expansion of Edo Castle.
