The National Museum of Western Art is distinguished by its reinforced concrete main building, a structure designed by the Swiss-French modernist architect Le Corbusier. Completed in nineteen fifty-nine, the museum is the only building by Le Corbusier in East Asia and is recognized today as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can identify the museum’s front garden by the presence of large bronze sculptures by Auguste Rodin, including The Thinker and The Gates of Hell.
