Kannon-ji

Kannon-ji is a Shingon Buddhist temple in Yanaka, Taito, established in sixteen forty-eight. You can recognize this site by the tsuji-bei wall, a long, original boundary wall from the Edo period that lines the temple grounds. This structure is built by alternating layers of mud and roof tiles, a rare survivor of a construction style once common across Tokyo. It has been designated as a protected cultural property since nineteen ninety-two.
