Djinn Blocks

Three massive, square stone monuments stand near the path between the visitor center and the entrance to the Siq. These cubic structures, carved directly from the surrounding sandstone bedrock, are among the earliest monumental works in Petra, likely dating back to the second century before the common era. While their exact purpose remains a subject of ongoing archaeological research, they are widely recognized as some of the oldest funerary monuments in the city.
