Knisja tal-Vittorja

The Knisja tal-Vittorja, or the Church of Our Lady of Victory, stands as the very first building completed in the city of Valletta. You can recognize the structure by the elegant double staircase leading up to its entrance. It was built in fifteen sixty-six by Grand Master Jean Parisot de Valette to offer thanks following the victory of the Knights of Saint John over Ottoman forces in the Great Siege of fifteen sixty-five.
