Barriera Wharf, often mistakenly called Quarry Wharf, sits along the waterfront between the Customs House and Imgherbeb Point. The name stems not from a quarry, but from a series of hardstone pillars connected by wooden beams that once formed a quarantine barrier for arrivals. This system kept travelers isolated from the general population before they were permitted to enter the city through the nearby steps.
