The Librairie Rachad sits tucked within the Habous quarter, identified by its traditional storefront and its presence as a fixture in this historic neighborhood. Originally established in nineteen forty-eight within the old medina, the bookstore began its life among the booksellers near the Koutoubia mosque. Its founder, Mohamed Filali Anassari, started the business with a focus on selling Moroccan manuscripts and Arabic-Muslim scientific texts, drawing on his personal connection to the nearby university.
