Kamieniołom Liban is a deep limestone pit carved into the earth of the Podgórze district, easily recognized by the rusted remnants of industrial conveyors and lime kilns scattered among wild, encroaching vegetation. Named after the industrialist Bernard Liban who established a major lime production firm here in eighteen seventy-three, the quarry has extraction roots dating back to the fourteenth century.
