The University Bridges consist of two spans crossing the northern and southern branches of the Oder River, positioned directly across from the main building of the University of Wrocław. These structures are recognizable by their central location and their proximity to the historic university campus, which provides the namesake for the crossing. The current steel spans date to the early nineteen thirties, replacing earlier bridge designs that had served this busy river crossing since the nineteenth century.
