Sculpture of the Nave

The Sculpture of the Nave, known locally as Nawa, is a series of thirty-five mirror-polished steel arches rising from the grass on Daliowa Island. Designed by architect Oskar Zięta and unveiled in June two thousand seventeen, this structure forms an organic, gate-like tunnel on the smallest of the river islands in downtown Wrocław. The surface of the steel is slightly wavy, creating shifting reflections of the surrounding Oder River, the sky, and the historic architecture of the city.
