The Greek-Catholic Cathedral of St. Vincent and St. James is a towering Gothic structure in Wrocław’s Old Town, identifiable by its prominent, heavy brick silhouette and a distinct, cupola-topped tower. Founded around twelve-forty by Duke Henry the Pious for Franciscan monks, it holds deep ties to the city’s early administration. It was here, within these walls, that the city’s new foundation charter was announced in twelve-sixty-one, setting the path for the growth of Wrocław under Magdeburg Law.
