Renoma

Renoma is distinguished by its long, horizontal façade of ceramic tiles and rows of gilded portrait sculptures depicting faces from across the globe. Originally opened in nineteen thirty as the Wertheim department store, this seven-story building was designed by architect Hermann Dernburg. It was the largest steel-frame structure in Europe at the time, featuring then-novel amenities like escalators and a restaurant with expansive city views.
