The Diriyah History Museum occupies the Salwa Palace within the At-Turaif district, a fortified mud-brick citadel rising from the banks of the Wadi Hanifah. This complex stands as the original seat of government for the First Saudi State, established in seventeen forty-four by Imam Mohammed ibn Saud. Today, the palace serves as the primary vessel for the museum’s exhibitions, which trace the history of the region from the migration of the Banu Hanifah tribe to the birth of the Saudi state.
