D. R. Harris & Co. is recognized as London’s oldest pharmacy, a distinction it has held since opening its doors in seventeen ninety. You can identify the shop by its traditional storefront at twenty-nine Saint James’s Street, which preserves much of the original mahogany cabinetry and Victorian-era apothecary bottles inside. Founded as Harris’s Apothecary at number eleven by a surgeon named Henry Harris, the business gained its current name after his cousin, Daniel Rotely Harris, joined the practice.
