The Riverside Museum is defined by a jagged, zinc-clad roof that rises in sharp, wave-like pleats along the banks of the River Clyde. Designed by the architect Zaha Hadid and opened in twenty eleven, the building stands on the site of the former A. and J. Inglis shipyard, where vessels were once constructed for the world. Its structure, open at both ends with expansive glass walls, serves as a tunnel between the city and the water, housing thousands of objects that tell the story of Glasgow's history as an industrial powerhouse.
