The Deepwater Diving Monument

The Deepwater Diving Monument features an eight-foot-tall bronze statue of a professional diver mounted on a two-foot-high granite base. Located near the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum at the harbor, the figure depicts a diver from nineteen eighty-two wearing the Kirby Morgan Superlite seventeen helmet. This equipment, developed locally, became the world standard for commercial diving.
