Dolphin Fountain

Three bronze dolphins—two adults and a calf—leap from a fountain at the foot of Stearns Wharf. Sculpted by local artist James "Bud" Bottoms, the bronze figures weigh nine hundred pounds and sit atop a three-tiered base that reflects the Chumash worldview of the universe. When the fountain was unveiled on July fifteen, nineteen eighty-five, it was known as the Bicentennial Friendship Fountain.
