El Paseo is a complex of historic buildings in downtown Santa Barbara that centers on an eighteen-twenty-six adobe home. You can identify the site by its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, which includes an arcade of artisan shops and a courtyard that features a fountain. The complex was designed by architect James Osborne Craig, who began his work in nineteen twenty-two to incorporate the original home of José de la Guerra, the fifth comandante of the Presidio Royale de Santa Barbara.
