The Granada Theatre rises eight stories above State Street, a height that makes it the tallest building in Santa Barbara. Its façade features rose and cream terra cotta detailing, and the interior incorporates Spanish-Moorish architectural themes inspired by the Alhambra in Spain. When it opened on April ninth, nineteen twenty-four, it was hailed as the city’s only skyscraper.
