Eaton Hall (Tufts University)

Eaton Hall features an exterior defined by red brick walls and four Corinthian columns supporting a prominent pediment. Constructed in nineteen oh eight, the building sits at the top of Walnut Hill and was originally known as the Eaton Memorial Library. Andrew Carnegie provided one hundred thousand dollars for its construction, but at the request of his wife, Louise Whitfield Carnegie, the building was named for Reverend Charles Henry Eaton. Eaton was a Tufts alumnus from the class of eighteen seventy-four and had served as the pastor who officiated the Carnegies' wedding in New York City.
