Sons of Hermann Hall at thirty-four fourteen Elm Street is the oldest free-standing wood frame building in downtown Dallas. Constructed in nineteen eleven, the structure is clad in wood and sits at the corner of Elm and Exposition, serving as the local headquarters for a German fraternal order that formed to help immigrants preserve their traditions. A large, ornate wooden bar, shipped directly from Germany, remains a centerpiece of the building’s interior.
