The Kimpton Pittman Hotel is distinguished by its marriage of a historic, four-story Beaux Arts-style building with a contemporary seven-story addition. This landmark at the corner of Elm and Good streets originated as the Knights of Pythias Temple, completed in nineteen sixteen. It was the first major commercial building in Dallas designed, financed, and constructed by the city's Black community.
