The Winspear Opera House is distinguished by its dramatic, glass-sheathed drum that glows a rich, deep red. This structure is wrapped in a massive, three-acre aluminum solar canopy that provides shade to the surrounding plaza and lobby. Designed by the firm Foster and Partners, the building opened in two thousand nine as a central venue within the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
