The seven-story red brick building at four hundred eleven Elm Street is easily identified by its position overlooking Dealey Plaza. Originally constructed in nineteen oh three, the structure stands on the site of a previous warehouse that burned down after a lightning strike. It spent decades as a wholesale grocery distribution center before becoming the Texas School Book Depository, a hub for textbook storage and regional publishing offices.
