The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is defined by a white steel arch that rises four hundred feet above the Trinity River floodplain. Designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the cable-stayed bridge features fifty-eight cables radiating from the central pylon to support six lanes of traffic. It opened in March two thousand twelve as a central component of the Trinity River Corridor Project, which aimed to bridge the physical divide between downtown Dallas and the neighborhoods of West Dallas.
