The building is constructed of white enameled brick and features a series of stately pillars and arched windows. Known today as Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station, this terminal opened in nineteen sixteen to consolidate five separate railroad stations that were previously scattered across Dallas. Architect Jarvis Hunt designed the Beaux-Arts structure to serve as a central hub, capable of handling eighty trains and fifty thousand passengers every day during its peak years.
