The Nasher Sculpture Center is recognizable by five parallel gallery pavilions that open into a garden through glass walls. Designed by architect Renzo Piano and landscape architect Peter Walker, the museum opened in two thousand three on a two-acre site in the Dallas Arts District. Its roof is composed of cast aluminum shells that filter natural light, protecting the delicate sculptures from direct sun while allowing for a bright, open environment.
