The Big Tree (Victoria Falls)

The Big Tree is a massive baobab, scientifically known as Adansonia digitata, that stands twenty-four meters tall with a base circumference of approximately twenty-two meters. Located along Zambezi Drive, this tree is distinguished by its gargantuan, ring-shaped trunk made of several stems that have knitted together over more than a millennium. Scientists using radiocarbon dating have estimated the oldest parts of the tree to be between one thousand one hundred and one thousand two hundred years old.
