The Gold Coast Fishermen's Co-Operative is defined by its floating pontoons along the Broadwater at The Spit in Main Beach. Since nineteen seventy, this site has served as a base for a local commercial fishing fleet. While the co-operative originally sold its haul to wholesale providers, the operation shifted in two thousand and five when members gained approval to sell their catch directly to the public.
