The Southport War Memorial is marked by a stone figure of a Digger, the colloquial term for an Australian soldier, standing in uniform. This monument was unveiled on twenty-fifth April nineteen twenty-two by Member of the Legislative Assembly J. C. Appel. It serves to commemorate those from the local district who served and died during the First and Second World Wars.
