Biskajersplein

Biskajersplein is a small square in the center of Bruges that takes its name from merchants who arrived here from the Biscay region of northern Spain in fourteen ninety-four. These merchants purchased two houses on this site and converted them into their official nation house by fifteen twelve, a building the historian Antonius Sanderus later referred to as the domus Cantabrica.
