The Florentines

The Florentine Lodge, known locally as the Florentijnse Loge, stands at the corner of Vlamingstraat and Academiestraat. It is a three-story building painted white, defined by its position on the historic site of the Old Stock Exchange. While parts of the structure date back to the thirteenth century, it gained much of its current appearance around fourteen thirty, when Florentine merchants sought to demonstrate their status by adding protective facades and tapering corner turrets.
