The Mewata Armoury is a massive, red-brick fortress that stands in the middle of Calgary’s downtown. You can identify it by its rugged, castle-like profile, featuring four prominent square corner towers, six smaller side towers, and a crenellated roofline that echoes the design of a medieval stronghold. Built between nineteen fifteen and nineteen eighteen, the structure is a classic example of Tudor Gothic architecture, designed to project an image of impregnability.
