The Suomenlinna Museum sits at the center of a historic sea fortress built across a cluster of islands. The building is identifiable by its role as the primary visitor hub, housing a permanent exhibition that details the fortress’s two hundred and seventy years of operation. Construction on these fortifications began in seventeen forty-eight under the Swedish Empire, intended as a naval base to secure the Baltic Sea against Russian expansion.
