The dry dock at Viaporin Telakka is recognizable by its historic stone basin, which remains in active use despite dating back to the seventeen-fifties. Located on Susisaari Island within the Suomenlinna sea fortress, it stands as one of the oldest operating dry docks in the world. Originally constructed to support the Swedish archipelago fleet, the facility was carved directly into the bedrock by soldiers and laborers.
