The Square Monseigneur Maillet is a park tucked onto the western edge of the Place des Fêtes. You can distinguish it from the surrounding nineteen-seventies concrete architecture by its sloped landscape, mature trees, and a nineteenth-century Wallace fountain sitting at its eastern end. Originally opened in eighteen sixty-three, it was one of the green spaces designed by the engineer Jean-Charles Adolphe Alphand during the urban renovations led by Baron Haussmann.
