Severinstorburg

The Severinstorburg is a massive medieval gatehouse marked by its asymmetrical hexagonal central tower and two lower flanking towers topped with conical helmets. Built in the first half of the thirteenth century, it served as a primary entrance for high-ranking guests arriving in Cologne from the south. This gateway was once part of a formidable city wall that featured twelve such gate castles, though only four remain standing across the city today.
