The Oia Steps are a stone staircase carved directly into the near-vertical volcanic cliff face, winding down about four hundred feet from the ruins of the Oia Castle to the water at Ammoudi Bay. Comprising roughly two hundred seventy-eight to three hundred individual steps of varying heights and widths, this path is the historic connection between the clifftop village and its former harbor.
