Ναυτικό Μουσείο Σαντορίνης

The Naval Maritime Museum occupies a two-story nineteenth-century mansion in the village of Oia. This building, once the private home of a seafaring family, is constructed from local stone and represents the architectural heritage of the wealthy shipowners who built the village’s reputation as a captains’ town. Its facade is finished in traditional pumice stone, and it stands as a monument to a period when Santorini served as a major commercial power in the eastern Mediterranean.
